Eden Cottage

Many of this year’s highlights relate to the successful navigation of the challenges brought by Covid and its associated restrictions.

One of our success stories has been our learning relating to Christmas. Despite the challenges of Covid, we were able to use technology to support children’s learning. Another positive is the engagement with other Visionwest services who contribute to our learning during cultural weeks, directing whānau with children to Eden Cottage, and supporting our whānau through many challenging times.

In June, we were visited by the Education Review Office (ERO) for our three-yearly ERO Report. This was a lot of work but provides a great way to measure our effectiveness. The final report will be placed on our website when it is released.

Although our numbers have dropped due to children leaving to school, we remain focused on the fulfilment of our refreshed vision which is to continue to provide our community with an excellent early childhood facility while ensuring our children have a safe environment in which to learn and our teachers have a sense of belonging and an opportunity to grow their skills.

Phoebe and Ben’s Story

Phoebe and Ben love it when their children come home and talk about the fun they’ve had at Eden Cottage, “When your children are happy, you’re happy.”
