Home Healthcare
Amidst the challenges of the past year, we have remained committed to providing quality in-home healthcare to enable whānau to experience the independence of living in their own homes.
The New Zealand employment market, Covid lockdowns and vaccination mandates have had a severe impact on all home healthcare providers during the past 12 months. For many, this resulted in the loss of a number of experienced support workers and staff recruitment in all areas of the healthcare sector remains a challenge. This is expected to be commonplace for most healthcare providers for the next 12-24 months.
While Visionwest Home Healthcare has felt the effect of this challenge, coordination staff and support workers have worked tirelessly to provide the best care possible for all clients with a specific focus on those with the greatest need. It has been encouraging to receive a number of emails and letters throughout the year from whānau who appreciate the care provided to their loved ones.
Throughout the year, we have been able to work collaboratively and build stronger relationships with funders, other providers, and the Ministry of Health, at a regional and national level. This will reap positive rewards in the future.
